Center Administration

The McDonnell Center for Systems Neuroscience Administrative Staff is comprised of three positions: a Senior Research Administratior, a Grants/Budget Specialist and a Secretary III.  Each position is structured to provide unique services to assist in alleviating the burden on interdisciplinary, cross-departmental research and training projects.  Often the nature of large collaborative research grants produces significant administrative difficulties. One of the primary goals of the McDonnell Center is to remove the burden of  these difficulites from the researchers, and to augment and help departmental administrative staff with the handling of interdepartmental, interdisciplinary grant administration from conception to completion. Below are examples of current and completed projects handled by the Center Administrative staff:

  • Assist with the coordination and preparation of the multi-departmental, interdisciplinary Intellectual and Developmental Disabilitites Research Center (P30) application (read more)
  • Handled all aspects of event planning for the Memory Disorders Research Society 2008 Conference (read more)
  • Assist with organization, administration and all accounting aspects of the Cognitive, Computational and Systems Neuroscience Pathway (CCSN)
  • Aid in organizing the Washington University proposal for the Human Connectome Project application by arranging  weekly team meetings and communicating information among the project working group
